Education Background

Dr. Brian Hong graduated with the Honored Bachelor degree in Immunology from University of Toronto, followed by a year of research in the field of Immunology and Microbiology at University of British Columbia. He went on to earn a degree of Doctorate of Dental Surgeon (D.D.S) from College of Dentistry at New York University, and the orthodontic specialty certification from Goldman School of Dental Medicine at Boston University.


Dr. Hong is knowledgeable in treatments of both children and adults’ orthodontic problems. His philosophy in achieving the best results and performing at fullest potential at all times has resulted in his being the highest ranking in his class throughout the course of study and training. He graduated as the Valedictorian of College of Dentistry at NYU, and has been awarded and honored for excellence in academic achievement numerous times, including the award of Outstanding Performance and Professionalism by American College of Dentists and American Association of Orthodontists Foundation. He is a registered dentist in BC and a certified specialist in orthodontics by both the American Board of Orthodontists and the Royal College of Dentist of Canada.


In addition to the prestigious membership to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society, Dr. Hong is an active member of numerous dental organizations, including the British Columbia Society of Orthodontists, BC College of Dental Surgeons, Canadian Association of Orthodontists, and the American Association of Orthodontists. He is also an elected Fellow of the Royal College of Dentist of Canada.

Recent News

Dr. Hong has enjoyed practicing orthodontics in Vancouver since 2005 and took over the practice of Dr. Christine Mills in 2008 to provide the highest quality of orthodontic care for the community.

Dr. Hong has been a Clinical Assistant Professor since 2006 at the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Dentistry. He enjoys teaching, as well as learning the most current information in the field of orthodontic healthcare. He has a particular interest in developing airway centric orthodontic treatment techniques.

His favorite activities outside of work are cooking, photography, and practicing Pilates, as well as spending time with his lovely wife and two young daughters, Lynn and Jade.
