Combined orthodontic and orthographic surgical treatment were used to help correct this malocclusion with skeletal discrepancy.
This patient had a skeletal Class III malocclusion with crossbite of the anterior teeth. The lower jaw is position more anterior than the upper jaw. The lower incisors were tipped in to compensate the skeletal discrepancy.
Upper and lower braces were used to place the lower incisors on their normal position relative to the lower jaw.
After coordination of the upper and lower arches, the lower jaw was repositioned with a bilateral sagittal osteotomy procedure done by an oral surgeon.
The patient had several months of orthodontic treatment post surgery to help detail the occlusion.
